All Right Said Alice I'm Going Back to the Other Side of the Mirror

Sunday was Sophia's baptism and while I didn't go to the Greek Orthodox church where the ceremony was, I heard all about it through my mommy. They made Sophia get butt naked and they bathe her in tub of olive oil to ward off all evil spirits. It sounds interesting, but I'm sure glad I didn't have to be nude at my baptism! The dinner party was fun because it was at Elaine's house and Victoria and Sophia and a ton of other little kids were there so I was in my glory and I got to play all night! Yesterday my boyfriend Grady came over and he played in my crib with me and on the floor and we ate pasta together! Mommy always wonders why my nose turns out yellow in pictures but after taking this picture she can see that Grady's nose looks yellow too so she's not worried anymore. My physiotherapist finally called back so mommy is happy and we have another appointment for my tilted head in October. Well, I'm off to my Nonna's house so, catch ya later! Posted by Picasa

I Would Be Your Only Dream, Your Shining Hour, Ocean Crashing

I am now eating while sitting in my high chair. This week I have advanced to eating finger food at the table. I like pieces of egg yolk, rice cake, dry brown toast and salmon. I don't like grated cheese and cooked peas...yuck! I am now forty weeks old which means I have been outside of the womb for exactly how long I was in, amazing huh? We have had a very eventful week, as always. I saw my family doctor in Kerrisdale this past Thursday and I am only 19 pounds so I am officialy no longer chubby. She wasn't overly happy about how my head tilt and neck were coming along so back to physio I go, darn. I still have a lopsiding face so that needs to be corrected so I don't have to wear a brace or anything embarrassing like that. I have my eye specialist appointment coming up soon too and I was really hoping the cold I had last week would clear up my blocked tear duct but so far nothing. A lady told my mommy to soak a cotton ball in camomile tea and wipe it on my eye and that's supposed to clear it up, maybe we'll try that! Posted by Picasa

When the Night Comes In I Hope I'm Out of the Rain

I love bathtime. In my hand is my nasal aspirator because I have had a cold and I still have a runny nose so mommy tries to fool me into cleaning it out by letting me think I have an exciting bath toy to play with and then all of a sudden she sticks it into my nose and squeezes air in it. Not very nice. Tara and Claudio had their baby on Sunday and now I have another new friend, a boy named Luca! He was on the third floor, not the second floor (hehe). He was born on Sunday, September 18 at 11:45 am and weighed 7 pounds. Tara looked so good on Monday when we went to visit them and she was lucky because she got sleep after her delivery. Today we went to the bridal store with my godmother Jody to get mommy's bridesmaid dress altered and then we went for lunch at Pappagalo cafe (her in-laws-to-be's cafe). Mommy had a fantastic mortadella panini and a biscotti...yum! Karen and my boyfriend Grady came over for a few hours in the afternoon and I practically slept through the whole visit...unusual for me. Jody bought mommy the new Matthew Good cd box set (includes a dvd) called In a Coma and she forced Karen to watch all the Matthew Good videos from the last ten years which came with the disc and Karen doesn't like Matthew Good, but they talked a lot during the videos so it probably wasn't too bad. We were invited to Sophia's baptism on Sunday so tomorrow we are going to find a gift and then going to see my grandparents! Posted by Picasa

Can You Hear Me Calling, Out Your Name, You Know That I'm Falling and I Don't Know What to Say

Last night daddy let me hit my head on hard wood surfaces not only once, but TWICE! Mommy was very upset and I had a big red mark on the side of my head. I have pretty much been sleeping ever since. The fact that he bought me a big kitchen set for when I'm a little older almost makes up for it, but not quite because he wouldn't buy me the easel also! haha, just kidding. I am too young to be materialistic. We are still a bit sick with colds but they are almost all gone. We did cancel our plans to go and see Sophia and Victoria last night because mommy still didn't feel well and it wouldn't be fair to bring germs over to them also. Tomorrow morning we are going to check out this kid's swap meet (they swap kid's stuff, not kids) at the Poirier Centre where I used to go swimming so hopefully that is fun and exciting and we find lots of great things! We are going with Karen and my boyfriend Grady! Posted by Picasa

Is There Anyone Out There Cause It's Getting Harder and Harder to Breath

I don't have any new pictures because mommy's sick so here's one of the pictures from one of my first days after being born! Daddy was sick last week and then I got it, and now of course mommy has it too. Her head is killing her and I won't let her rest because I like to pull her hair and scratch at her eyes when she lies down next to me. I still have a runny nose too and sometimes its hard to taste, or breath. Plus, that Burns Bog is on fire and the smoke is so heavy and smelly and that doesn't really help. Now our house is stuffy because we aren't opening windows to keep the smokey smell out. Anyway, Daddy got the cold first so its his fault for bringing public transit germs home to us and sneezing all over the house without covering his mouth and not washing his hands with soap after he blows his nose. Complain much? Posted by Picasa

There is Magic, All Around You, Every Time You Walk in the Room

Do you like my capri pants? I am so close to crawling, any day now really. I guess my mommy should enjoy it while it lasts that I don't crawl because once I do, I will certainly be getting into everything. I already am. I like to shove wet cloths in my mouth and suck the water out, gross I know but it feels good on my gums! My teeth haven't come through yet. Yesterday we went to see all of my mommy's co-workers. They tell her that they can't wait for her to come back to work in January because they miss shopping at the stores on South Granville St with her. Plus, they have opened a Liberty store and a Moxie's restaurant in the neighbourhood so they told her that when she gets back, they will take her for lunch there. The Director of her department was away on vacation so mommy changed my diaper and nursed me in his office. haha, he would be mortified if he knew that. So, this morning we were packing up to go to Tara's house and mommy noticed that one of the pets had peed on my really nice OshGosh floor blanket. That has never happened before, thank goodness, because she was livid and she was ready to call a pet rescue agency on them. Daddy said that he thinks it was the cat but it didn't smell bad enough to be the cat's pee. Mommy washed the blanket and all the toys that were laying on it and they came out clean and don't smell so that is good, but she had to clean the rug that was underneath it as well because it had soaked through.

Do you remember me telling you about the girl who works with my mommy, Lisa, who was having the baby with the same, horrible degenerative disease that had taken her first baby girl two years ago? Well, she had her second baby girl, Scarlett Rose, just last week. Scarlett will be beginning extensive treatment for the horrible disease (Krabbe's) including chemotherapy and stem cell transplant very soon. If you are interested in seeing her adorable face you can see her website at http://www.chloeisabel.com/Scarlett-Rose.html and there is also a link to Chloe's (their first beautiful baby girl) website and her tragic story. Mommy and I think about Scarlett all the time and hope and pray that the treatment will work in her fight against the disease.

And you Knew Her, Funny Little Dancer

This is me at mealtime. Yes, that is a shower cap I am wearing on my head. Mommy makes me wear a shower cap every time I eat my solid foods because I suck on my fingers between every bite and then I smear my hands over everything. While it isn't so difficult to clean off my skin or clothing, my mommy hates having to wash my hair more than once a day so I wear a shower cap to keep the food from smearing throughout my hair. It works and my mommy highly recommends it for any other mothers out there with messy babies. Hopefully this will put all those questions at rest about why I wear a shower cap when I eat! Posted by Picasa

Sunflowers and Your Face Fascinate Me

Tonight we had dinner with my mommy's good friend Jody H. Not my godmother Jody, but another Jody. We went to Cactus Club in Burnaby and they had a nice long chat as always, but mommy wouldn't let me eat the rocks from the fountain like what I wanted to so I got upset. Eventually I settled down but it's always a lot of work to take me to a restaurant because I always poo and there is barely a place for mommy to change me. Plus, when my mommy asks a waitress or waiter if there is a wheelchair washroom for her to change me, or if she can have a bowl of hot water to heat up my bottle, she always gets stared at like she is a crazy woman because the staff at these restaurants haven't got the least idea what a mother or baby needs. Funny. Anyway, we had a good time and it was sunny so we got to sit on the patio and stare at the gargoiles (sp?) that were in the water fountain with the demonic red eyes right beside us.  Posted by Picasa
