Am I Only Dreaming

This is all I have wanted to really do lately...sleep. I got caught up on Monday as we did nothing but stay home all day, but then on Tuesday and Wednesday I fell behind again because we had to get up both days and I missed out on naps. On Tuesday we walked with my godmother Jody and then we went to my grandparent's house and then to my great aunt's house after dinner. Wednesday morning we got up and got ready to go to my pediatrician appointment near C&W Hospital in Vancouver. I don't know how mommy is going to go back to work all the way down there come January because we left exactly one hour before our appointment, and it was only noon, and we were still late, the traffic was so miserable. yuck. Anyway, I got scared of the doctor when he walked in the room and I cried and cried the whole time I saw him. Everytime I turned around and saw his face, I would get really scared again and cry really hard. Anyway, he is hoping my blocked tear duct in my left eye will clear up on its own by the time I am one, but in the meantime, he is going to send me to an eye specialist at Children's so they can work on getting me booked in for the procedure, in case it doesn't clear up by one. I would then have to have my eye 'probed' to puncture the blockage...GROSS!!!! Keep your fingers crossed that it unclogs itself, PLEASE! Posted by Hello

Somewhere, Beyond the Sea, Somewhere Waiting for Me

I am a WaterBaby. Today Daddy came with us to take pictures and video and I was showing off for the camera. Ashley, the instructor, made us dunk our heads under water today and I didn't like that so much. The first two times were ok but the last few times when my mommy made me swim under water, I cried and choked and didn't like that so much. Mommy knew that I would be videotaped today so she put me in my cute little swim suit rather than the spandex suit that I usually wear...what freedom. Posted by Hello

Put Your Tiny Hand in Mine

This is me working on my blog today. See how it takes a computer to put a smile on my daddy's face? :-) We had swimming this morning and looked at new houses this afternoon. Tonight we are visiting with some of my parent's friends and I will probably get to see my boyfriend Grady after all these weeks that we have been apart. Posted by Hello

I Want to be, Forever Young

Today we went to my mommy's work and visited with all her coworkers. It always takes us forever because everyone wants to talk to us and everyone wants to hold me. We were there from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm...yeesh. I had enough after an hour or so, but its always good for mommy to find out all the gossip. Only six more months and she will be returning back there and my daddy will be looking after me until he goes to work during the weekdays. Hopefully he will sleep a little lighter than he does now or else mommy just may have to stay home with me after all. Oh, and hopefully mommy's job is still there when she goes back because even though she wants to stay home with me, she needs that job to go back to.  Posted by Hello

If the Shoe Fits, Buy it in Every Color

This evening I got to see my friends Sophia and her older sister Victoria Dimakos. We had fun playing and rolling on the sofa together because both Sophia and I are barely able to sit up on our own. Elaine brought them over to my Nonna's place for coffee after dinner. I had my prevnar vaccine this morning and I just haven't been in the greatest mood. Plus, my teeth are bothering me and I didn't get a nap this morning so I've had better days. Thank goodness for music because its the only thing that keeps me calm and when the music no longer is working, then its gotten really bad.  Posted by Hello

I Will Make Your Dreams Come True

My daddy assembled my JumperRoo (courtesy of my lovely Aunt Lorri Ann) last night. What a blast I am having in this! They should have thought of this a month ago, its the best! Today was the first day that I ate a vegetable. Yesterday my mommy and I went all the way to Kerrisdale for my doctor's appointment (she moved her office down there, from Burnaby) and I had an exam and my six month vaccinations. I have to go back to my Pediatrician, Dr Peacock, to have my eye looked at because it is uneven and still leaking a lot. Anyway, I weight 17 pounds 10 ounces now, and my doctor told my mommy that I can start eating mashed fruits and vegetables, so my mommy fed me sweet potatos today. They tasted kind of funny and I made weird faces but eventually I got used to them. I am sure I will be trying something new everyday from now on. What fun. Ok, gotta go back to my jumping now. Posted by Hello

Running Through the Shadows

Sorry it's been a few days since my last post, but we have been tres busy! Also, I don't have any new pictures, but I will be sure to add one really soon, as soon as my mommy takes a new one of me. Tuesday, June 14, was my six month birthday already! My Nonna and Mommy took me to the United States to shop in Bellingham, it was a long, but fun day. We got down there, after waiting at the border for a long time, at 1:00 pm, and didn't get home until after 9 pm. We shopped and shopped and stopped a couple of times to feed me and change my diaper, but we found lots of nice things. Can't wait to go back! Target has the best baby department so mommy bought me some neat things that she can never find up here. We spent way too much money but we were lucky that the guy at the border didn't charge us any duty. He was too busy telling my mommy that she should get written permission from my daddy any time she brings me down there, so maybe that distracted him from just how much money we spent.

Come on in and Cover Me

For those of you who don't know, my Zio Derek has autism. Although there are many different degrees of the severity of how autistic people are affected and no two are alike, most have unusual habits or obsessions of some sort. My Zio Derek has many hang ups but one of his most major is that everyone must wear socks. Derek will wear sweat socks on the hottest of days and pull them right up to his knees. When he was little my mommy used to call him the Sock Monster. Anyway, even when he sees me without socks he will look high and low until he finds a pair that will fit me. Tonight, he took it upon himself to dig through my diaper bag, find me a pair of socks and place them on my feet for me. He just can't stand the sight of bare feet. Thank you Zio Derek for caring about me and taking care of me!

On another note, if you have some spare money ever and are feeling like you should donate to something, please keep Children's Hospital in mind. On behalf of my mommy's coworker who lost her little baby girl three years ago to a horrible degenerative disease, and is currently pregnant with her second baby who also has the same disease, every little donation helps. This new little baby is going to be spending his first few months in the hospital undergoing many various transplants, including stem cell, and babies such as this need all the help in the world. To the new Fedorak baby: we are praying for you and I can't wait for you to be my new friend!

Edit: Please excuse any spelling mistakes which may occur throughout this blog, but I am only six months old and my mommy hasn't worked in seven months, so we don't know how to spell. Thanks!  Posted by Hello

Just Like the Sea (Will Rock A Little) Some Say it Was Just Like Me

Today was great! Mommy and I had our first Waterbabies lesson this morning. It was so much fun...I smiled and splashed all around and burped and had an awesome time! There was another baby girl there who was only five days older than me, but she was a lot chubbier than me! I didn't cry or fuss at all, I loved it! Can't wait to go back next weekend. Sorry I don't have a picture for you, but Daddy didn't come so there was no one to take a picture of me, but hopefully next time. Oh, and I was the only Waterbaby wearing one of those spandex suits, but Daddy figures that by the next lesson, all the other babies will have followed my style and their mommies will have all ran out and bought them one too. I was really sleepy after swimming lessons so I had a long nap in the stroller while my mommy and daddy went out and bought me a new Baby Einstein dvd! I can sit there for almost a 1/2 hour on my own watching one of those so my parents think they are a good investment.  Posted by Hello

And the Rain Came Down, There's no Pain and There's no Sound

On Tuesday we went to see Elaine's new townhouse. It's really big and nice and Victoria and Sophia have their own bedrooms. I cried most of the time because I was so tired but I couldn't fall asleep in Sophia's crib, or swing, or bouncy chair. I only sleep well in my own bed, so, we didn't stay that long. Mommy was exhausted after going out there, so we just relaxed afterwards and I got to rest in my crib. Yesterday we went to my Nonna's house and some of my bis-Nonna's friends came over to meet me and shower me with gifts. We stayed for a long time and I was in a good mood. It has rained a lot lately so we haven't gone for a walk in a long time. Jody and my mommy keep having to cancel because of the weather. Hopefully we can go with Daddy tonight if it doesn't rain again. Today, we are going to look for a 32" LCD tv so I can watch my Baby Einstein dvds with a better picture and better sound. So excited! Posted by Hello

Come in Out of the Darkness

Yesterday was my baptism day. For more photos you may visit my website at www.laurenisabella.com. It was a lovely day even though it was dark and rainy. My mommy was happy that it wasn't very hot out because she figured we would all be dying in our suits if it was. At the church I was really good. I didn't cry when the water was poured on my head but I did get fussy towards the end only because it was warm and the service was almost an hour long. I don't have that long of an attention span. We went to Kefi Kouzina afterwards for dinner and it was nice and loud there, so I was happy. We were there for three hours and I only started to fuss at the very end. It was time for me to leave, I had enough by then. Jody and Dario are now officially my godparents and I am very lucky to have them. They spoiled me once again with jewellry for my baptism, and so did my nonna, nonno and bis-nonna. I really am truly blessed. Posted by Hello

Now Everything is Easy Cause of You

Friday again already. I haven't been out at all today, which is rare. We were supposed to walk with Jody this morning but it rained of course, and by the time it cleared up it was too late because she had to go to work. Mommy was talking with one of her work friends, Cindy, who she hadn't talked to in a while and it made her feel like she was back at work again already. That will be a sad day in our household when my mommy has to return to work. Yesterday we went to look at the lot in Burnaby where we may be building a house. Daddy didn't think he would like living there as much as living here, but a new house sure would make up for it! I can't wait to decorate my room if we move. I want pink and frills and fur (faux) and princesses all around me. Keep your fingers crossed! Posted by Hello
