She Tries Hard To Tell The Story But It's A Hard One To Tell

Have I mentioned before that one of my favorite things to do is to sneak up onto the kitchen table and steal apples, or mandarins or pears, out of the fruit bowl and sit there for several minutes munching away on them. Then, I climb down and walk around with it a bit until I've had enough because the apple has now become a soggy mess so I throw it somewhere in the living room. Not much is new around here. Our weather has been terrible and both my mommy and I have been sick for a week. I didn't leave the house for three days but I went to daycare today. I still had a runny nose and cough (my mommy has a nasty cough and its even keeping her awake at night) but I did alright. I haven't been able to go outside for weeks, its depressing. I have been saying a few new words though; HI, UP & DOWN (and I even know what they mean) and I say WHAT and THOSE and today I said BEEP and LIGHTS and TREES! My parents are very proud. Oh by the way, if anybody wants to send us to Maui anytime soon we would be more than willing. Posted by Picasa

She Looked Out The Window A Long Hard Moment and She Looked Into My Eyes, She Didn't Have to Say A Thing, I Knew What She Was Thinking

Ok so that was a pretty long hiatus. I have been growing several teeth all at once. Its been tough on all of us, but I am still sleeping well and eating alright. Our weather has been solid rain for what seems like weeks on end. I haven't been able to play outside or at the park for a few weeks, so yesterday my mommy and daddy took me swimming in the tot pool at Chimo! It was so much fun, I played for almost an hour and had a ton of fun with daddy. I could stand up and walk around on my own so no one had to hold me down like last time I went swimming. I started daycare last Tuesday for four days, so far, it is going really well. I like being around the other kids and I enjoy the stimulation plus I have been taking naps every afternoon while I'm there because I get so tired out. We had flu shots on Friday and I got redness in my face and mommy has been feeling sick ever since. She is looking for a job now that I will be in day care. Grady is no longer coming over because his mommy is home now on maternity leave, she is having another baby at the end of this month. Tracee, Russell and Taytum welcomed a baby girl into their family last week, her name is Nyla Morgan, she looks just like her mommy and is a good baby, she sleeps! Not like me at that stage :-( The holidays are coming up quick. We don't have any plans yet but within two or so weeks I guess all the decorations are going to start going up so I'll have way more exciting things to play with and place in my mouth, and line up on all the furniture. I got a toddler bed, it has a princess on it. Tonight is my first night trying it out, but its very cute and fun. I could get up at any time and play in my room throughout the night! My parents hope I don't do that though. A year ago this weekend we were in Maui for my godparents, Jody and Dario's wedding. Mommy is depressed that its been so long already and that our weather is so nasty compared to the beautiful paradise of Maui. What she wouldn't do for another day to shop in Wilea while sipping a latte. Daddy would probably love to sit out on the balcony during the evening listening to the wind in the trees and the water and I would love to be at that super pool at the Grand Wilea Resort again that had caves and slides and islands! *sigh* back to reality. This weekend also marks Rememberance Day, making our daily life routines seem so much less important than the people we are paying tribute to. Good night. Posted by Picasa

You Need A Blue Sky Holiday

We are back from our long journey in Ontario. What a ride. We flew overnight to Toronto on Tuesday, August 29 and with the time difference, arrived at 7:15 am on Wednesday morning. I did not sleep on the plane, no one did, but it was important that I slept which I did not. I tried to nap on my mommy's lap but would awaken with every movement and sound. Wednesday morning in Toronto turned out to be a trying experience for me and my parents because we couldn't check in to our hotel until 1 pm and had 5+ hours to kill, PLUS, I was miserable, on no sleep, and wouldn't sleep in the car or stroller. Tough, very tough. We picked up our rental car which turned out to be way too small for all of our baggage (a lot) but we crammed it all in anyway because we were too cheap to rent a minivan which would have cost over $1000. We killed a few hours at the fantastic Eaton Centre mall in downtown TO and my mommy did some powershopping while I screamed and my daddy tried to calm me down. We finally were able to check in to our hotel and we all took a nap, and then, ate McDonalds and drove around downtown. It was nice, especially for mommy to see all the wonderful city and stores. I discovered the week before in Penticton that I am in love with McDonalds french fries, no salt, so when my parents are desperate for me to eat dinner on the road, they now have an option. Not a healthy one, mind you. The next day we crammed ourselves in the car again and headed down for Niagara Falls. My parents have been there before but my Nonna hadn't. It was beautiful and fun and I had gotten some sleep so I was in a bit of a better mood. I got to see a baby tiger in the hotel lobby (did I mention that downtown Niagara Falls is like a mini Las Vegas?) and I threw up on one of the dining room chairs. oops. That evening we hit the outlet mall, its the best mall of outlets in Canada and once again, my mommy did some damage. Daddy bought me a cute Nike outfit and a Roots jean jacket! The next day we headed up to Cottage Country to visit with my Nana and Poppa, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. We stopped in St Jacobs, a Mennonite village, on the way but I was miserable so we could only breeze through. We had dinner with everyone the first night at the cottage and I was still trying to catch up on sleep. I no longer nap in the car, which sucks for my parents. The next day was the big 50th anniversary party and I had a nap in the afternoon so we barely made it to the park ontime to get our pictures taken. It was a beautiful dinner and dance except that my daddy let me fall on the wooden stairs at the old church and land on my head. I screamed and ruined my cousin Hayley's singing debut performance. I also clung to mommy for dear life the entire night (actually, the entire vacation as a matter of fact) so she didn't get too much of a chance to visit with all the Tuck families and friends, but it was nice to see everyone anyway. For the rest of the week we visited with family, drove around showing Nonna the area in which my daddy was raised, and ate and slept well. It was great. The weather was ok, not great. We had some rain and it was never warm enough for me to swim in the lake, not until the day we left. The day we left for Toronto ended up being another shopping excursion for my mommy as we went to a new, very large shopping mall in Vaughn called Vaughn Mills. It was nice and mommy and daddy both found a few things but the weather was very stormy and the power went out just as we were in Holt Renfrew! We had a few more hours to kill before signing in at the airport so we ate on the go at Tim Hortons and Harveys (gross) and then ended up being perfectly on time at the airport only to have our flight delayed by two + hours which sounded, at the time, like my parent's worse nightmare. Instead of leaving at 11 pm we left at 1:30 am and everyone was tired, including me. They had extra room on this flight so I got my own seat which was awesome because I ended up getting about 3 hours of sleep! My parents didn't get any but that's ok. My dvd player in which my parents usually amuse me with when they are desperate didn't work because the power had been left on and the battery was dead! Thank God they didn't really end up needing it because I settled down ok. Anyway, we are home now and back to Vancouver time, sunshine, and all caught up on sleep. Mommy returns to work tonight and daddy still has the week off. I am still being clingy to mommy and Grady is back today. Mommy finally cut off my hair. It looks ok, rather cute, but she may have to go even shorter as there is still enough for me to grab at. Pictures to come. Posted by Picasa

Vacation All I Ever Wanted, Vacation Had to Get Away

We got back from Penticton on August 26, it was a great vacation! We took our new trailer and I did so well in it. I slept through the night in the playpen and I even had a nap or two! The weather was a bit cloudy the first two days but it was still warm enough for me to swim in the campground pool. The campground was nice, and the washrooms were very convenient. I got to have two showers! We went to the waterslides park one day, that was the highlight of the trip for me! So much fun, I went down some of the baby slides with both my parents and I loved it. It got really nice and hot too, and mommy bought me Dora's backpack at Wally World and it is now one of my favourite toys. We met up with some friends up there and it was fun to have the company, even though I am not social enough yet to play with the other kids. Anyway, like everything else that is fun, it went by too fast. My mommy has a new addiction, Iced Cappucinos! Posted by Picasa

Come On Let's Get To It, I Know That We Can Do It, Where Are We Going, On A Driving Adventure, Where Are We Going, On A Driving Adventure!!!

Ok so I've been getting feedback for the lack of updates. The truth is that my mommy hasn't taken any pictures of me recently because I have a huge bald spot on the right side of my head from pulling out my hair. It's not pretty. Mommy is currently contemplating whether or not she is going to cut my hair into a short, boyish haircut so there will be less for me to pull. However, the downside to that is that there will be even less long hair to cover up the bald spot then. I'm an entire new generation for the combover. My current bad habits are as follows: finger sucking, hair pulling (out) and pooping in the tub. My mommy's newest and baddest habit: Starbucks. My daddy's list is endless. HAHAHA! Just Kidding Daddy!

We have been busy as usual but my daddy is now on vacation for the next month! Yesterday, both mommy and daddy took me swimming to the outdoor pool at Eagleridge, it was so much fun. We leave on Wednesday for a camping trip in our trailer in Penticton. We'll be there until Saturday and mommy is looking forward to a nice break from the dogs. They are staying at the City of Coquitlam Kennels. There is a pool at the campground we are going to so I will be having lots of fun. Don't know if I will be able to update while we are away, but now that we have a laptop I just may be able to. Hope your summer is going well and you are enjoying the sun. My mommy is so happy to be going to Penticton again, its been years for her.

And I Must Have Been Dreaming, And I Must Have Been Someone Else

This is my second attempt at posting this exact one because the first one didn't work and is now disappeared! How frustrating because of course I can't remember everything I said now. Anyway, I will try. We had a heat wave in Vancouver this past weekend and I discovered that I love popsicles! They are perfect, cold, sweet and messy, just the way I like it! My mommy finally got a weekend off (without even asking for one...bonus!) so we took our new tent trailer up to Paradise Valley in Brackendale (Squamish) and tried it out for the first time. It was rushed but we had a good time; I love nature and the outdoors, I take after my daddy that way. Mommy is more of a city girl because she likes shoes and handbags. I finally fell asleep and slept really well despite the fact that I was in a playpen which I have long since outgrown. Man, it was hot though! I love summer, my mommy set up a turtle pool in the front yard for me and put a few rubber duckies in it and it has provided endless entertainment for me! I also love that I can go to bed in nothing but a diaper. This coming weekend is also a busy one for my family because we are having lots of friends over for my mommy's forever 29 birthday party, it should be fun. I will be shooed to bed rather early but there probably won't be too many other kids here. Grady, of course who is a permanent fixture around here, and maybe Luca, but other than those two, I'm not sure what kids may be coming if any. There will be lots of food though, as always, and CAKE! I have had lots of appointments again recently and there are still many more to come. Physio, OT, pediatrician and two specialist appointments in the Fall. They always put me in a bad mood. Mommy is looking for a new dog-walking partner to walk for 1.5 hours (Just over 6 km) in the Mundy Park neighbourhood. She goes at 6 am, before I get up and her old partner/best friend Jody moved to Abbotsford so now the dogs are even fatter and lazier because they have only had 1 walk in the past 2 months. Mommy is going to be fatter and lazier soon too if she doesn't find anyone. Its hard to get up that early but its worth it to stay in shape and feel better. Any takers???? ANYONE????!!!!!! She may be able to find someone at Thrifty because there are lots of active staff there, however, its the 6 am thing that will make it difficult. It's hard to go later now because I hate being in the stroller for that long, which is why her and Jody started going at that time in the first place. We finally got my 18 month portraits back and while they are not as great as the baby portraits I always had done, they are ok considering I won't sit still and I get annoyed very easily, especially when someone tries to control me. If you are close family or friend then your copy awaits!

Well I sure hope this one posted otherwise I'm going to scream! I hope you are having a great summer and I'll try and update again very soon. xo Posted by Picasa

Little Things You Say and Do, Make me Want to Be With You

THAT! THAT! THAT! THAT! THAT!

Summer is pretty much supposed to be here by now but it's not. I know what will happen though, all of a sudden it will get really hot over night and everyone will be talking about it. That is the way it works here, it goes from cool, to hot summer practically over night with not much preparation. I like summer, I like being outside, playing with leaves and twigs and petals and ants. I love to climb stumps, curbs, stairs and hills and I love to point at all the lights and everything else and say "THAT!". We booked our trip back to my daddy's home that is Ontario at the end of August. It's going to be busy and tiring traveling with me but I am looking forward to seeing all my family, especially my grandparents again. It's been a year. We are also going camping in Penticton the week beforehand, as long as mommy gets the days off work. My mommy likes her job and her schedule is balancing out pretty well right now so I can still go do things. I still get to see my grandparents once a week and she is taking me swimming on Thursday! We saw the casting director last week that auditioned me for the Fisher Price commercial (that I didn't get) but she kept going on about how cute I was and to make sure mommy brought me down again for another audition and then two days later the talent agency called my mommy and asked her to email some more recent photos of me. It's not easy taking any photos of me these days never mind ones that I am looking at the camera, smiling, with no one else in the picture and nothing blocking my face, etc. Anyway, hopefully we will get called again for another audition. Daddy is doing such a good job taking care of me when mommy works and it was Father's Day this past weekend so we bought him some shoes and an entire set of brand new cedar planters so that we could create some more work for him outside, like he doesn't have enough already. Way to go dad on keeping the yard looking good so that I have lots of room and safe places to play. Posted by Picasa

So Tell Me Who I See When I Look in Your Eyes, Is That You Baby or Just a Brilliant Disguise

Wow is blogging out of style now or am I just the worst one in the blogging world? Probably both. Its been the ugliest week weather-wise but up until last Sunday, we had hot, sunny, summer weather and I was playing outside every day in my shorts and hat and I would go for walks in the neighbourhood with my mommy, daddy or nonno and would scrape my knees on the concrete because I was wearing shorts. I love to climb stairs, its my newest passion and I can't get enough of it. I needed sunscreen and we actually even played in the sprinkler one day because it was so hot and Grady and I needed to be cooled off. What happened? Now its dark and cold and rainy and it feels like forever and a day. Daddy hasn't cut the lawn in two weeks! This week was kind of busy even though my mommy didn't work much but we had an appointment with my OT in Vancouver on Thursday and then an appointment with my physio on Friday and then mommy is back to working Sat, Sun and Mon but we also have Grady on Monday and Tuesday so phew. The best news recently is that mommy insured her old Ford again so now daddy takes it to work and we have the van all the time so we can go out now even when daddy is at work so it leaves us with more freedom which will be especially nice once summer finally arrives. The bad news is that the car is acting like a lemon and needs a new alternator belt, alternator and battery so its stalling out and we need to charge it every day in order for it to start. Kind of inconvenient which defeats the purpose of insuring it for additional convenience in the first place! Wow, what big grown up words I am using. Anyway I have been doing well and am growing a big belly and saying more words (even though they mostly sound the same). I love books and poiting to objects and chanting out the names of them. We haven't been to Motoring Munchkins in weeks now but mommy plans to take us there tomorrow. I love to climb so I can't wait! Hope you have a great week! Posted by Picasa
